Goodnight, Sunrise

Goodnight Sunrise

Goodnight, Sunrise was formed in 2011 by David Kochberg and Vanessa Vakharia who had both played in Toronto band The Big Deal. Along with friend and former Glueleg bassist Andrew “Chowder” Charters, they recorded their first EP Fragments as a three piece. The addition of drummer Paul Weaver in February 2012 completed the four member group, leading into their first festival performance at the 2012 Canadian Music Week.

Black Pistol Fire

Black Pistol Fire

Black Pistol Fire is a high-octane rock duo based out of Austin, Texas by way of Toronto, Canada; composed of Kevin McKeown on guitar/lead vocals and Eric Owen on drums. Drawing inspiration from blues, R&B and rock greats such as Led Zeppelin, Chuck Berry, Nirvana, Buddy Holly and Muddy Waters, BPF’s gritty and dynamic performances are fueled by undeniable musicianship. Dubbed the “next big thing” by Huffington Post after SXSW 2013, BPF has developed a reputation for their untamed live performances. Described as “Pure fire on stage”(Degenrefy), they are quickly becoming festival veterans, including performances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch Music Festival, Shaky Knees and Governor’s Ball, among others. After Lollapalooza 2015, Yahoo Music described Black Pistol Fire as “a power duo that can almost match the power and intensity of the massive rock sounds of the likes of Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac… in a breakout set.”

Current Swell

Current Swell

Every song has a story. With Current Swell’s third Nettwerk Records release, When To Talk And When To Listen, these stories cut deep.

Grammy-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Cold War Kids, Of Monsters and Men, James Bay) produced the album over four weeks in two vastly different locales: Nashville and Vancouver. The former is where King lives and does most of his studio work; the latter is a ferry ride away from where Current Swell makes its home. Both cities have music at their core, which gave King and Current Swell common ground on which to build their new relationship.

Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds

Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds

Put simply, Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds are new-age fosterers of soul music. They are, however, also bringing it with a twist. The band is from the old French quarter of St Boniface, Winnipeg, the largest French speaking population in Western Canada, and they’ve cemented their identity as bilingual artists with a unique French and English double-EP released in 2017, and now a bilingual full length album coming out in September. Jérémie Brémault’s smooth, smoky voice, and earnest stage presence wrings that authentic soul sound into the group’s wide-ranging style. They call it the “delicious sound” – say it fast enough and you’ll hear where these crafty musicians get their name.
